"Euphues: The Anatomy of Wit" (1578) and "Euphues and His England"
(1580), and his plays. Lyly's style gave rise to the expression "euphuism".
Shakespeare’s "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" and "As You Like It"
were influenced by Lyly’s work.
